Weak arms

I have weak arms.  Even though I can lift a 50lb toddler, I have trouble doing anything else with these arms.  So on Tuesday mornings after spin class I go over to the weight section of the gym and get to work on making my arms a little bit stronger.

This morning I managed to do three different machines for my arms before I finally had to say "Uncle" and get out of there.  I have a feeling I'm going to be pretty sore come tomorrow.  Last Thursday in abs class, we did about 10 minutes of plank work.  My shoulders and chest were killing me on Friday.

Spin class was pretty great this morning.  I got my sweat on and by the time the class was over, I was tired.  Makes getting up at 5:30 worth it, when I go home sweaty and tired.

Yesterday afternoon I got home, got dinner thrown together and was out the door by 6:15.  It was cloudy and there was a cool breeze blowing through but it was still muggy and hot out.  I guess south Georgia decided to skip spring and jump right into summer.  It's only 10:26 here and it's already 73 degrees outside.  It's suppose to get up to 91 degrees today.  THAT'S HOT.

Well anyways, I managed to get in my 4 miles for the day.  Here's the numbers:

Mile 1 - 8:47
Mile 2 - 8:39
Mile 3 - 8:55
Mile 4 - 8:55
Total time: 35:22
Average pace: 8:49
Calories burned: 405

I'm planning on running 4 miles in the morning.  After reviewing my schedule (I printed this out after my half marathon in March so I would keep myself busy with running) that it calls for 5 miles, so I will either run 4 or 5.  I'll see how I feel in the morning.

I'm off to get some work done.  I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday.

Angela :)

  1. I have really weak arms too and shoulders and abs...

Great job on the miles. I can't believe it is that hot over there already. I don't know how all you southern belles do it!

  2. I try to do most of my running in the early morning. Once the sun comes up down this way, you can actually forget about doing much of anything in this heat. Also don't forget about the gnats. Those things drive me bonkers. The only thing I like about winter is no gnats.
