Weekend Review

Well I didn't run Saturday and it was all because I am a big baby when it came to the cold weather.   I honestly can't stand to run when it's cold but I need to get it together because my 3rd half marathon is scheduled for March and I have to train through the winter.

Our party went well on Saturday.  Aside from lots of drinking and some drunk FBing, LOL!!!! we had a blast.  My team won but with all the GA fans screaming AU played dirty in the last 2 minutes of the game, I feel this is even dirtier Georgia Sets Fire in Dowtown Auburn.  Not only is that dirty but dangerous.  I've been down in Toomber's Corner after a game was won in Jordan Haire.  It's packed and people are running all over the place.  Georgia fans should be ashamed of themselves for doing this.

Anywho, moving on.  I've decided not to start half marathon training just yet.  Since I have a 10k race in three weeks, my training is going to be more focused on hitting a 50 minute 10k.  I only need to knock off about 5 minutes from my time.  Here's a look at this week's training schedule:

Monday - 3 miles at 9:51 pace (will be ran on the treadmill at the gym while Bug practices soccer)
Tuesday - Cross train/abs class
Wednesday - Tempo Run - 5 miles with 3 at an 8:19 pace
Thursday - 3 miles at 9:51 pace/abs class
Friday - Rest
Saturday - 6 miles at a 9:51 pace

I will begin half marathon training on December 6, the weekend after this race.  I feel that will give me good enough time to get into half marathon shape but will not cause any overused muscles or injury.  I'm trying to stay away from that.

Next week I'm going to out-of-pocket starting Tuesday.  Going to the MIL (mother-in-law) house for Thanksgiving.  I will be getting in my running while there because my MIL can watch the girls and I can run in a different place.  Exciting.

Well I better get to work or better yet update my running book with my new schedule.

Have a great Monday.

Angela :)

  1. running in the cold weather always takes some getting use to. I use to avoid it and now I enjoy being one of the few out there braving the cold!
