Resolutions Coming a Month Sooner

I don't do New Year's Resolutions because when I decide to go for something, I'm not going to wait for the beginning of the New Year to make them.  Want to lose weight starting in December, then I'm going to go ahead and start then, want to sign up and run a marathon come March, I'm game to start training now instead of waiting.  With that said, I really need to start buckling back down on the weight front and running front.

Over the Thanksgiviing holiday (well to be honest it started after the half marathon in October) I have let my weight creep back up. It's nothing that I can't handle and I don't mind it, I can just tell that I'm starting to gain a little here and there.  I honestly don't want to put out there how much I've let myself go over my goal weight because it is actually crazy how little it is.  So I'm only going to say that I really need to start working on my weight.  I've lost 25 lbs and have managed to keep my weight down for a year now.  I don't want to get back to where I use to be.  I really like the person I am now.

I ran yesterday evening on the treadmill.  I only did 3.1 miles but I put the pace on the treadmill to 8:34 and kept it there the entire three miles.  I also put the incline on 1%.  I was a sweaty mess by the end of the three miles but I felt so much more alive than I had in 3 days.  It was marvelous and I was pumped.  Today I went to abs class and this evening I'm planning on starting back on the EA Active for the Wii.  Tomorrow I have 5 miles with 3 being at an 8:00 minute pace.  (I have huge goals for this Saturday's 10k, which I will post on Thursday). Thursday I'm doing the EA Active and abs class and Friday I'm doing the EA Active, Saturday I'm racing the 10k and Sunday I'm doing the EA Active.

I've got to get back into the exercise mode.  Somewhere along the way I fell out of it and actually haven't jumped back in with both feet yet. If  I decide to leave that until January, then I'd be screwed, so I'm starting it this week and really pushing myself next week (half marathon No. 3 training to begin then).

I know, I know I'm constantly saying I'm going to get back into the exercise routine and as you can see I'm not even close yet.  But I'm doing it, I'm getting back into it and hopefully my resolution will carry me further than January 1, 2012.

Have a great Tuesday all.

Angela :)

  2. Laurie, thanks girl. Oregon pulled their game out but I saw that it was close in the first half.
