I mentioned in my previous post that I was going to go for 5 mile run on my lunch break. Boy oh boy was it an awesome 5 miler. It wasn't to hot and it was breezy at just the right moments. I had a blast navigating my little city on the run and instead of opting for an out and back course (2.5 miles, those same miles back) I opted to just run until I hit 5 miles. I did have to back track once because I made a mistake on an avenue but I managed to work it out and everything turned out perfectly.
Here's the splits of today's run:

Average pace: 8:43

WOW is all I can say. It felt hard and I really pushed to hang on to that sub 9 minute/mile pace. At times I really wanted to slow it down some but I knew that I wanted to push it and the hip has been giving me ZERO problems for a while now. This totally gives me the confidence I was looking for going into Saturday's 2 hour run. I'm confident that not only will I blow those 2 hours away, but I'm hoping for at least 11 miles or more. A girl can dream, so don't squash mine, just yet.
