Upset Belly

Man oh man after I ate breakfast yesterday morning after doing a 45 minute spin class and running 3 miles my stomach completely flipped and I felt terrible all day.  Then after I got home from work my calf muscles got really tight and sore.  When I crawled into bed at 9:30 last night I decided to see how I felt when the alarm went off at 5:30.  At 3 I changed my alarm to 7 because I knew there was no way I was going to be able to get out there and do speedwork on tight calf muscles.

So I skipped today's workout. I figured that by the time I got home from work my legs would be feeling pretty good and I could do it after work.  Well Bug got sick while she was with my sister.  She brought her to me at work at 10:30 and we came home at 12 and have been here all day.  I was thinking that when hubby pulled up I would go ahead and get my 7 miles done.  Well that plan has now gone completely out the window because the hubs is still working almost 2 hours away from home and will probably not be here until almost 9 tonight.  Ughh.  Since I have a 5k race on Saturday that actually calls for speed (want to break 23:30) I'm using that as my speedwork and just ditching the 7 miles all together.  I hate it but with not feeling well I'm just going to take it easy and just go with the flow.

So there you have it, I'm taking an unexpected rest day and to be completely honest, I'm not all that upset about it.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

  1. Sometimes unexpected rest days can be better than planned ones. Besides, you can just consider it a mini taper for your 5k on Saturday. :) Good luck, hope you get your time.

  2. It can be frustrating when you can't make it work but it sounds like you needed the rest day. Good luck at the 5K!
