Yesterday kicked off my 20-week training schedule for the Snicker's Marathon. I started my training with a 3 mile run. It went well, uneventful but I did get to run along the race path that I'll be running this Saturday. I love that trail, so it'll be fun to race along it Saturday morning. I managed to run those 3 miles in 24:59.
Saturday I urged the hubs to please help get me out of bed in the mornings to get my runs in and done for the day. So this morning, I feel someone pushing on me to wake up. I peek open my eyes, knowing there is no way it's 5:40 a.m, and sure enough the clock reads 2:46. The hubs was confused and thought it was almost 6 when it was really only 3. I told him to go back to sleep, that I appreciated his help, but I wasn't running at 3 in the morning. So when the alarm did go off, I hit snooze and then contemplated going back to sleep for all of 2 minutes when I felt the hubs start pushing on me again. I finally get out of bed and hit the street for my 4 mile run right at 6. I love running in the morning before everyone else is up and the day hasn't officially started yet. It was just cool enough this morning to warrant my arm warmers, I feel so bad ass when I wear them. I ran those 4 miles in 33:XX.
I have a small goal for the Marathon but will not talk about it until after I have ran longer than 13 miles, then I'll see if this small goal is doable or not.
This evening I'll do Pure Cardio from Insanity and then I'll be through working out for today. I really did enjoy Insanity but with trying to fit in all the miles and that, it got to be really tough and I decided to keep it up for at least 3 days a week. Since Bug had a soccer game last night, I moved yesterday's Insanity workout to today but my main goal is to do Insanity on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
I'm feeling pretty good to have already ran 7 miles this week, I'm excited about Marathon training starting. I've already lost 3 pounds from where I was doing Insanity and running, so I'm hoping to see how much weight I really loose with all the running I"m about to embark upon. This is so exciting.
Another exciting thing, my mom will be running her first half marathon while I"m running the Marathon. I"m super stoked for her. I've created a training plan that I know she'll be able to manage and I'm hoping to be able to run some of her long runs with her while I train for the Marathon.
Well I'll be back tomorrow. Have a wonderful Tuesday.
Angela :)
hope you have a fabulous training cycle!
