Feeling Blue

Yesterday I woke up to rain drumming on my back door, so I decided to crawl back into the bed with the hubs and put my run off until lunch.  I should have known better because it was still running when my lunch break rolled around, so I decided that I would just have to get something done after work.  I ended up spending most of the night with my nose glued to the newest book I'm reading.

So this morning I got up and got myself ready for a, what was suppose to be easy 5 miler.  There was nothing easy about it.  I never got into a comfortable running grove.  By mile 2 I wanted to turn around and head on back home but instead I opted to try a new route and ended up being shorted half a mile.  I only ended up running 4.45 miles.  I could have cared less.  As I sat sitting on my driveway stretching and drinking water, I thought about how easy it would be to run down to the end of the cul-de-sac and get that last .5 in, but I just didn't really feel like it.  I instead walked inside and took a nice hot shower.

I'm feeling blue this week.  Not sure exactly why.  I had a great weekend, an awesome run on Saturday, and even a better night with the my friend.  The hubs let me go to an all girls adult party.  It was a blast and I got to spend some much needed time away from the house and all it's responsibilities and got to act like me.

I guess another thing is my 30th birthday is coming up on the 12th.  I really have no qualms about turning 30.  I'm pretty excited about it actually.  I'm planning a cards night with friends.  We are suppose to have a Texas Hold'em tournament and it's $30 for 30.  $30 buy-in because I'm turning 30.  There is already $300 in the kitty and hopefully more people show up and I'll add to my winnings (already thinking I'm going to win the game, hey it's my birthday.)

Since I didn't post my workouts for the week, I'll get them on up.  It helped keep me accountable last week, so I'm hoping for the same thing today.  Maybe I need to post this on Sunday, so I'll make myself get up on Monday.

Monday - 5 miles (Didn't run them, moved the run to Tuesday)
Tuesday - 4.45 miles/abs
Wednesday - 5 miles
Thursday - 5 miles/abs
Friday - Rest
Saturday - 5 miles, I'm actually running in a 5K race so I'll have a warm-up miles, 3.1 tempo miles (ha), and a cool down mile for a total of 5.

Ab class here I come.

  1. Sorry you're having a blue week so far. Hope things pick up for you soon. Not that you sound sad about turning 30 but in case you need to know how great 30 is, don't think of it as 30, but 3 perfect 10s!
