4 Mile Lunch Run

I have decided that Wednesday at lunch I will run.  I enjoy pounding the pavement at a time I'm suppose to be eating lunch and it makes me feel good the rest of th day.  I've figured out ways to make myself smell less like sweat, so pretty much no one in the office is even suspect that I went for a run unless you look at my hot mess of hair that I have to put back together after the run.  My hair is too short to put up in a ponytail and I usually don't do anything with it on the weekends except stick it behind my ear.

So today I'm lacing up and getting outside for a wonderful 4 miler on my lunch break.  The weather, according to WALB, says its 63 degrees outside.  Who could ask for better running weather????  The run went awesome and for some reason I was flying.  I'm guessing I'm using this week for speed, considering I took a lot of time off there for my hip problem.

Here's the breakdown of how my four miles went.

Mile 1 - 8:25
Mile 2 - 8:18
Mile 3 - 8:23
Mile 4 - 8:25
Total miles: 4
Total time: 33:35
Average pace: 8:23
Calories burned: 407

I'm planning getting my running journal back out of hiding and start going by it again.  I plan on using what's on schedule next week for my running and then resume from there.  I'm jumping back into the running world feet first and I'm super excited.  I'm probably taking a couple of days off after my half marathon but then jumping back into the training cycle for my 15K race in November.

I know I said earlier this week that I was going to go ride the bike at the gym tomorrow, well since yesterday's run only ended up being 1.25 miles (my mom thought I left my key to the house at the soccer field, so the hubs came to my rescue and I ended up riding back with him.) But I ran that 1.25 miles in 9:28 (Average pace 7:35).  I plan on running somewhere around 5/6 miles in the morning before work.  Let's hope I get another good nights sleep like I did last night.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday.  We are almost through the week and that much closer to my OMG half marathon next weekend.  Beware of tons of post next week about nothing but that, what I'm wearing, goals, plans, etc.

Angela :)
